The Apartment

18 The Salcombe is a large, light and airy self-catered waterside holiday apartment set in the heart of Salcombe, accommodating up to 6 guests in 3 bedrooms. ​ The space has been newly refurbished and decorated to the highest standards offering a touch of luxury to a modern coastal apartment. 

The apartment is the perfect spot for a relaxing long weekend break in the winter, or a full-on action packed family holiday in the summer!

 

Bedroom 1

The master bedroom has ambient lighting throughout, a superior kingsize bed,  custom built fitted wardrobe, full length mirror, bedside table and large chest of drawers. Small wall-mounted TV with Freeview channels. The room encompasses a luxury bathroom with views across the estuary and beaches.

Bath, vanity unit, sink, WC, heated towel rail.

Note: There is no door separating the master bedroom from the bathroom.

Bedroom 2

This  twin bedroom has two large single beds that can with notice be made up as a super king bed. The room  has a custom fitted wardrobe, two chest of drawers and ambient lighting.  The full length plantation shutters open to an impressive indoor balcony with a small sofa to enjoy views out to the sandy beaches and sailing boats on the water.

Bedroom 3

This small cosy room, located just off the main living area,  is the perfect space for younger guests.  It has a full sized single bunk bed, two small chest of drawers and hooks for hanging clothes..

Large family shower room with walk in shower,  sink, WC, heated towel rail.

Inside Balcony Room

Situated between the twin bedroom and the kitchen is a cosy quiet place to take in the views of the estuary while enjoying a coffee or reading your book. 

Kitchen Dining Area

Modern well equipped kitchen with open plan eating and dining table (seats 5). The kitchen leads into the internal balcony room.

Living Space

Large open plan living space with bi-fold doors onto the covered balcony with wonderful 180° views across to the sandy beaches at East Portlemouth. Full length plantation shutters provide shade in the summer months.  Two large comfortable sofas, beanbags for younger guests.  Large wall mounted Smart TV,  side console where board games are stored, central coffee table and side tables for convenience.

The Outside

On the balcony, there is a hanging egg chair and the outdoor breakfast / lunch  bar (seats up to 5) is the  best place to enjoy your meals in the summer time With views across the estuary it is the perfect place to watch the world go by. 

Steps lead down to the main terrace where you will find a breathtaking spot to relax on a comfortable corner sofa or soak up the atmosphere on a sun lounger.   Simply sit and relax right on the waterfront from the comfort of  your own space. This is coastal living at its absolute best!

Waterside Communal Gardens and Swimming Pools

There are two heated swimming pools that are in operation from 29 April to the end of September. Pool opening hours are generally 08:00-20:00, it is unattended and guests are responsible for the safety of themselves and their children.  

The shared waterside grounds / public area around Salcombe Apartments has a low sea wall of 60cm therefore children must be supervised by an adult at all times.   View Pool & Garden Regulations here

Things to note during your stay 

  1. The indoor dining table and outdoor breakfast bar both seat up to 5 guests.

  2. We  only take bookings for children over the age of 8 years old due to the open steps down to the terrace and the low wall along the length of  the apartment's terrace.

  3. The apartment is in a central location in the town centre. The apartment sits conveniently adjacent to the ferry steps and next to The Ferry Inn. Please be aware  when you are outside there can be noise heard  from the Ferry Inn garden in the summer months and also people using the Ferry Steps adjacent to the property.

  4. The Ferry Inn have a beer barrel delivery Tuesdays at 9.30am. The barrels are stored in a room behind the bunk room / shower room which can be quite noisy but it is short-lived.

  5. There are communal laundry facilities  (2 large washing machines, 2 large tumble dryers) situated along the corridor from the apartment. The cost of a wash is £3.50, or £1 per dryer cycle.  Coins are needed to operate these machines.

  6. The shared waterside grounds / public area around Salcombe Apartments has a low sea wall of 60cm therefore children under the age of 12 years  must be supervised by an adult at all times.

  7. The swimming pools are in operation from open 29th April to the end of September. Pool opening hours are  08:00-20:00.   Guests are responsible for the safety of themselves and their children and children under the age of 15 years  must  be supervised in the water. As there is no life guard all guests are asked to sign a waver on arrival.  

  8. There is a restaurant (Dick & Wills) within the building.

  9.  ​There is no smoking permitted anywhere within the apartment or building .

  10. No pets allowed.
